The city of Guri, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Kyung-hyun) announced on the 17th that on the 13th, it held a 'Meeting to Promote the Separation and Establishment of an Integrated Education Support Office for the Establishment of Gyeonggi-do Guri Education Support Office' at the Guri-Namyangju Education Support Office, with Seo Eun-kyung, Superintendent of Gyeonggi-do Guri-Namyangju Education Support Office, Lee Eun-joo, member of the Gyeonggi Provincial Council (Education Administration Committee), and Baek Hyun-jong, member of the Gyeonggi Provincial Council (Urban Environment Committee).

At this meeting, Mayor Baek Kyung-hyun of Guri and other participants discussed the necessity of promoting the separation and establishment of the integrated education support office through communication and cooperation among Guri City, the Education Support Office, and the Gyeonggi Provincial Council, as well as the future schedule.
They also exchanged in-depth opinions on the necessity of establishing the Guri Education Support Office to provide tailored administrative support suited to regional characteristics and to ensure smooth educational services through strengthened cooperation with the Education Support Office.
Furthermore, they agreed to continuously review in advance the plan to establish temporary office space using existing educational facilities within Guri City, so that after the revision of related laws and ordinances, the opening of the temporary office of the Guri Education Support Office can be promptly promoted.
Additionally, Guri City will strive to secure a site for new construction through continuous consultations with the Education Support Office and the Guri City Council, and actively engage in the separation and establishment of the integrated education support office through the operation of a regional council and a working TF team.
Mayor Baek Kyung-hyun of Guri said, “Guri City is making various efforts to become a better city for raising our children and an advanced education city,” and added, “We will do our best to establish the Guri Education Support Office to discover systematic educational policies for Guri City and bring about fundamental changes.”
