Jeongeup-si "Pay Your December Regular Automobile Tax"

A Fine of 3.99 Billion Won Imposed... Deadline Until the 31st

Jeongeup City in Jeonbuk announced on the 17th that it has imposed and notified approximately 25,000 cases of regular automobile tax for December 2024, totaling 3.99 billion KRW.

This amount is 4.6% (174 million KRW) higher than the second installment of last year, mainly due to an increase in the number of registered vehicles.

The taxpayer is the owner listed on the automobile registration ledger as of December 1, and this automobile tax covers the ownership period from July 1 to December 31.

The payment deadline is until the 31st of this month, and a 3% late payment surcharge will be imposed if the deadline is missed. In particular, if the automobile tax exceeds 450,000 KRW, additional surcharges may apply, and property disadvantages such as vehicle seizure and license plate confiscation may occur, so caution is required.

Payment methods include visiting nationwide financial institutions and post offices, or using various methods such as ATM/CD machines, virtual accounts (internet banking), Internet Wetax, Giro payment, unmanned payment machines, and ARS.

Mayor Haksoo Lee said, “We thank the citizens who have faithfully paid local taxes despite the difficult economic conditions,” and added, “The automobile tax will be used as Jeongeup City’s independent revenue for regional development and necessary projects.”
