KB Financial Group announced on the 17th that it has been included in the World Index, the highest tier of the 2024 Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) published by S&P Global, for the ninth consecutive year, making it the only domestic financial company to achieve this.
DJSI is an index that evaluates corporate ESG management performance in areas such as environment, society, governance, and economy. Among these, the highest grade, the "World Index," assesses ESG management of 2,500 global companies based on market capitalization, with only about 250 companies included.
With this, KB Financial has earned the top AAA rating for two consecutive years in the MSCI (Morgan Stanley Capital International) ESG evaluation, received the highest score among domestic financial companies with a "Low Risk" rating in the Sustainalytics ESG risk assessment, and now has been included in the DJSI World Index, thereby gaining recognition for its top-level ESG management capabilities from major global ESG evaluation institutions.
All affiliates, including KB Kookmin Bank, focused on practicing ESG management, achieving excellent results across all ESG sectors such as "expanding win-win finance and services," "implementing climate change response strategies," and "promoting ESG management centered on exemplary governance," which is cited as the reason for receiving favorable evaluations from global ESG rating agencies.
A KB Financial Group official stated, "Being included in the DJSI World Index for nine consecutive years is a reaffirmation that KB Financial is a global leader in ESG management," adding, "Going forward, KB Financial will continue to lead ESG management and make every effort to fulfill social responsibilities, especially in activities that grow together with small business owners and the public."
