Singer Jang Beom-jun publicly supported those who participated in the impeachment rally against President Yoon Seok-yeol by releasing his new song "If War Breaks Out."
On the 14th, Jang Beom-jun shared the music video for "If War Breaks Out" on his Instagram.
He wrote, "I am sharing 'If War Breaks Out' (No, it can't happen), which I created a year and a half ago after receiving an emergency disaster alert, hoping it brings even a little warm comfort to those who protect our precious daily lives during the cold winter."
He continued, "This is an era where even the slightest hint of war must not appear," adding, "I am even more grateful to the many people enduring hardships on the asphalt in this cold weather. Thanks to them, I firmly believe that at the end of the year, we will definitely be able to spend a happy Christmas with family, friends, and loved ones."
Jang Beom-jun also posted a candle emoji, expressing his support for the candlelight rallies.
Earlier, on the 6th, Jang Beom-jun had canceled some performances of his small theater concert series "Jang Beom-jun Weekday Small Concert" due to the declaration of martial law.
As a result, the performances on the 11th and 12th were rescheduled, while those on the 18th and 19th were canceled. At that time, Jang stated, "For those who wish to get a refund, we will provide a 100% refund anytime, even after rescheduling the performances."
He added, "Although performing is truly precious and enjoyable, due to various reasons, I will pause the concerts and take time to reorganize until the situation settles to some extent."
He also urged, "Please pay attention and watch the news carefully, and for those who have the capacity, I hope you will support each other and stay strong."
The second impeachment vote against President Yoon is scheduled to take place at 4 p.m. on the 14th in the National Assembly plenary session. Ahead of this, large-scale rallies both supporting and opposing the impeachment are being held in areas such as Gwanghwamun and Yeouido.
