Pocheon City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Young-hyun) held a signing petition handover ceremony on the 13th at the mayor's office to promote the attraction of the GTX-G line to Pocheon.

At the ceremony, Lim Chun-hwan, Secretary General of Daejin University Foundation, Lee Min-hyung, Chairman of the GTX Pocheon Attraction Promotion Committee, Kang Yong-beom, Advisor, Lee Bong-hoon, Vice Chairman, Kwon Young-taek, Vice Chairman, Kim Eun-soon, Vice Chairman, Lee Sang-taek, Subcommittee Head, Yoon Jin-soo, Subcommittee Head, Kim Kwang-jin, Subcommittee Head, Oh Jin-seok, Subcommittee Head, Oh Seok-jun, Subcommittee Head, and Lee Han-myeon, Committee Member, attended.

The Daejin University Foundation delivered a petition with 103,000 signatures collected through various events to Pocheon City Hall, and the GTX Pocheon Attraction Promotion Committee handed over a petition with 30,000 signatures gathered through internal and external activities.

A Pocheon city official stated, "If we add the signatures delivered this time to the approximately 180,000 signatures collected by the city, the total far exceeds the target of 200,000." He added, "Considering that the signature campaign has been conducted for about three weeks since November 21, it shows the extent of the citizens' desire for the attraction of the GTX-G line to Pocheon."

Mayor Baek Young-hyun said, "I am grateful to everyone who has united with the shared belief and trust that GTX can truly open a new era of railroads in Pocheon." He continued, "I ask all 140,000 Pocheon citizens to come together with a united heart, and I, along with all public officials of Pocheon City, will join hands firmly with you and devote ourselves to the effort to attract the GTX-G line to Pocheon."

Pocheon City plans to actively work for regional development and transportation infrastructure construction by visiting related organizations such as the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and Gyeonggi Province, and holding rallies and other internal and external activities together with the GTX Pocheon Attraction Promotion Committee to reflect the GTX-G line in the '5th National Railroad Network Construction Plan.'

Meanwhile, the GTX-G line is a metropolitan express railway spanning 84.7 km, connecting Songwoo in Soheul-eup, Pocheon, through Dong-ui-jeongbu, Guri, Nonhyeon, Sadang, Gwangmyeong (KTX), to Sungui in Nam-gu, Incheon. The project cost is estimated at 7.679 trillion KRW, enabling travel from Pocheon to Gangnam Nonhyeon Station in 30 minutes and to Gwangmyeong Station (KTX) in 43 minutes.

Pocheon City proposed the inclusion of the GTX-G line in the '5th National Railroad Network Construction Plan (2026?2035)' being established by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport last May. In June, Pocheon City signed a win-win cooperation agreement for the successful promotion of GTX Plus with the Governor of Gyeonggi Province, members of the National Assembly, and heads of local governments along the route.
