"President Before Resignation and Impeachment Impeachment Is a Legitimate President"
On the 13th, Kwon Seong-dong, floor leader of the People Power Party, requested President Yoon Seok-yeol to exercise the right to re-request (veto) regarding six bills forcibly passed by the Democratic Party, including the amendment to the National Assembly Act.
At his first press briefing held at the National Assembly that day, Floor Leader Kwon said, "These bills were unilaterally passed on November 28th in the plenary session due to the violent actions of the major opposition party. Former floor leader Choo Kyung-ho officially requested the right to re-request, and this request is still valid," adding, "I once again request the president to exercise the right to re-request."

The target bills include the amendment to the National Assembly Act, the amendment to the National Assembly Testimony and Inspection Act, and the four agricultural laws (the Grain Management Act, the Act on Distribution and Price Stabilization of Agricultural and Fishery Products, the Agricultural and Fishery Disaster Countermeasures Act, and the Agricultural and Fishery Disaster Insurance Act), totaling six bills.
When asked whether the presidential authority such as exercising the veto power is still valid, Floor Leader Kwon replied, "Until the president resigns or an impeachment decision is made, he is legally the president of the Republic of Korea."
Floor Leader Kwon said he is not communicating separately with the presidential office. He stated, "We are not communicating with the presidential office because no issues requiring communication have arisen yet."
Regarding reports that he had spoken with the president since taking office, he said, "As announced, there has been no phone call," and added, "Since he is still the incumbent president, if there are matters to discuss between the party and the government, discussions can take place, but since there are no special matters, no discussions are happening at all."
