Selection of Outstanding Local Rural Development Officials Who Shined in South Korea's Rural Guidance Project
On the 13th, it was announced that Kim Sang-min, head of the Livestock Microbiology Team at the Agricultural Technology Center in Yeoju-si, Gyeonggi Province, received the '2024 Korea Agricultural Technology Extension Award' on November 19th, hosted by the Rural Development Administration, in recognition of his contributions to the development of local agriculture in the field of rural guidance.
The Korea Agricultural Technology Extension Award, hosted by the Rural Development Administration, is the most prestigious award in the rural development sector, selecting public officials affiliated with local rural development institutions nationwide who have contributed to the advancement of agriculture and rural areas and the dissemination of technology. After about four months of a first document screening, a second on-site evaluation, and a final third presentation review, six recipients were selected.
Kim Sang-min, head of the Livestock Microbiology Team, was recognized for his outstanding leadership in various fields, including △ the development and dissemination of the nation's first crop-specific customized fermented liquid fertilizer △ promotion of a mass production system for solid microorganisms for livestock farms △ promotion of a mass and automated colostrum production system △ implementation of pilot projects in livestock technology extension △ and fostering young livestock personnel in Yeoju-si.
In his acceptance speech, Kim Sang-min said, “I believe I have gained valuable and precious experience during my over 20 years as a livestock officer in public service, and I would like to express my gratitude to my colleagues who have worked together for the development of agriculture and rural areas to reach this position.”
Park Jung-ha, director of the Agricultural Technology Center, said, “We are very pleased to have the honor of receiving the Korea Agricultural Technology Extension Award at the Yeoju-si Agricultural Technology Center, and we will continue to make relentless efforts to nurture juniors so that we can produce more awardees in the future.”
