Coway's 'Return Product Collection Package' Wins Minister of Environment Award

14th Green Packaging Contest Grand Prize

Coway announced on the 12th that it won the Minister of Environment Award, the grand prize at the 14th Green Packaging Contest, for its "Return Product Collection Package." The Green Packaging Contest is an event hosted by the Korea Environmental Packaging Promotion Agency and sponsored by the Ministry of Environment to encourage the development of eco-friendly packaging technologies, awarding outstanding packaging technology and design cases annually.

The "Return Product Collection Package," which won the grand prize at this year's Green Packaging Contest, is packaging material designed to transport returned products?due to simple consumer change of mind?without damage so they can be reused as refurbished products. Coway received high praise for developing reusable packaging materials to replace the disposable bubble wrap previously used for collecting returned products, contributing to environmental protection and carbon reduction.

Coway 'Return Product Collection Package'

The Coway Return Product Collection Package is designed to enhance reusability by using polypropylene, a highly reusable material, and to strengthen cushioning performance and durability so that it can package even heavy products. Additionally, the packaging box features a foldable assembly structure that minimizes volume, thereby reducing carbon emissions during transportation.

Coway improved usability and simplified the packaging process through a universal design of four types by product group and size, and plans to expand its application to all product lines, starting with bidet products, followed by water purifiers, air purifiers, massage chairs, and more. A Coway representative stated, "Coway actively evaluates environmental impacts throughout the entire process from product development, production, to disposal, and practices activities to improve resource efficiency and reduce carbon emissions. We will continue to recognize corporate environmental responsibility and strive to develop eco-friendly products."
