Mayor Donghwan Lee Awards Commendations to 41 Safety Officers Contributing to the Promotion of Safety Culture
Goyang Special City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Dong-hwan) announced on the 12th that it held an award ceremony for contributions to the activation of safety culture at the ‘2024 Goyang Special City Safety Guardians General Meeting’ held on the 11th in the large conference room of Deogyang District Office.

At this general meeting, the Goyang Special City Safety Guardians Union shared major achievements in promoting safety culture activities by the 2024 Goyang Special City Safety Guardians and discussed development directions for the upcoming year 2025.
Following the general meeting, during the 2024 Safety Culture Activation Contribution Award Ceremony, Mayor Lee Dong-hwan personally presented certificates of commendation to 41 safety guardians who contributed to spreading safety culture and to two neighborhoods (Gwan-san-dong in Deogyang-gu and Gajwa-dong in Ilsan-seo-gu), expressing gratitude and encouragement.
The Goyang Special City Safety Guardians Union consists of a total of 366 members (167 in Deogyang-gu, 110 in Ilsandong-gu, and 89 in Ilsan-seo-gu) and plays an important role in enhancing safety awareness in the local community and helping citizens practice safety rules.
Main activities include ▲participation in various training sessions ▲reporting safety violations in daily life ▲campaigns on Safety Inspection Day, and other diverse efforts to spread safety culture.
Mayor Lee Dong-hwan of Goyang Special City stated, “We will continue our ongoing efforts with the safety guardians to make Goyang a safer and better place to live,” and added, “I ask for your continued active participation so that Goyang Special City can protect the safety and happiness of its citizens.”
