Mokpo University is promoting university integration to nurture functional and technical personnel tailored to regional demand through the 2-4 academic system linkage by integrating Jeonnam Provincial College, and furthermore, through integration with Suncheon University, to contribute to the development of specialized industries in the eastern and western regions of Jeonnam. The university integration also aims to attract a national medical school and university hospital, a long-standing wish of 34 years in Jeonnam, to resolve medical blind spots in the region.
President Song Ha-cheol stated, "This briefing session is an opportunity to inform community members about the progress of university integration and to share with local residents the goals that Mokpo University aims for through the integration, such as industrial development and improvement of medical welfare in Jeonnam." He added, "We plan to actively reflect the diverse opinions of community members in the university integration promotion plan."
