On the 9th, Kang Gi-jeong, Mayor of Gwangju City, held an "emergency executive meeting" to prepare measures for the people's livelihood economy and citizen safety in response to the 'December 3 Emergency Martial Law Incident.'
At the executive meeting held in the city hall's main conference room, Mayor Kang urged, "As economic uncertainty has increased, please closely monitor next year's progress and do your best to care for the people's livelihood economy and protect the safe daily lives of citizens."
He continued, "With growing financial market anxiety and increased economic uncertainty, the regional shockwaves are expected to be significant. Especially at times like this, we must not neglect caring for the people's livelihood. Please find and implement administrative measures such as early execution of next year's projects."
He also said, "During difficult times, the administration must remain stable and operate city affairs without disruption. Each department and bureau should also carefully manage the pressing issues related to the people's livelihood."
Mayor Kang stated, "Many citizens are gathering at the 5·18 Democracy Square in the cold weather, worrying about the country and the economy. The safety and protection of citizens is the administration's foremost duty. Prepare safety measures for the citizens," he ordered.
