Busan Port Authority, First Public Institution to Obtain Human Rights Management System Certification for 6 Consecutive Years

Busan Port Authority (BPA, President Kang Jun-seok) announced on the 9th that it has received the 2024 Human Rights Management System certification from the Korea Management Certification Institute, becoming the first public institution to achieve the Human Rights Management System certification for six consecutive years.

Since first obtaining the Human Rights Management System certification in 2019 as the first public institution, Busan Port Authority has continuously renewed its certification every year, establishing itself as a leader in human rights management among public institutions.

Every year, it conducts human rights impact assessments in management and key business areas to improve deficiencies, and provides human rights education to all employees to foster human rights sensitivity and internalize human rights management.

In particular, through the "Visiting Human Rights Counseling Center," it listens directly to various human rights violation cases not only from internal employees but also from partner company employees, taking corrective actions and practicing human rights management for both internal and external stakeholders.

Kang Jun-seok, President of Busan Port Authority, stated, "Due to the nature of the port, where users and stakeholders are diverse, human rights management is more important than anywhere else," and added, "By 2025, we will further strengthen efforts to spread human rights management through the advancement of human rights management."
