Gyeonggi Provincial Assembly Postpones Supplementary Budget Review from 13th to 19th

The Gyeonggi Provincial Assembly postponed the plenary session approval of the 2nd supplementary budget plan, originally scheduled for the 13th, to the 19th due to disruptions in the budget review schedule caused by the aftermath of the '12·3 Emergency Martial Law' incident.

Earlier, the ruling and opposition parties in the provincial assembly had conflicts over the appointment of the political affairs line of Governor Kim Dong-yeon of Gyeonggi Province but agreed on normalizing the regular session schedule on the 27th of last month.

The agreement states that both parties will handle the 2nd supplementary budget plan at the plenary session scheduled for the 13th and strive to approve the next year's main budget at the plenary session on the 19th. Accordingly, the Assembly's Special Committee on Budget and Accounts aimed to complete the review of the supplementary budget and next year's main budget from the 2nd to the 6th, but due to the unexpected martial law incident, the budget reviews for departments under four standing committees?Operations, Planning and Finance, Health and Welfare, and Future Science Cooperation?were not completed.

The Assembly's Budget and Accounts Committee plans to submit both the supplementary budget and next year's main budget to the plenary session on the 19th.
