The KOSPI index fell to 2365.51 during the afternoon session on the 9th, marking a new 52-week low.
Around 1 PM that day, the KOSPI index dropped to 2365.51, setting a new 52-week low once again. This level is lower than the figure recorded earlier in the morning session.
In the KOSPI market, the metal sector fell 10.62% due to a sharp drop of over 17% in Korea Zinc. Construction and chemical sectors declined by over 4%, while chemical, securities, machinery equipment, textile and apparel, non-metallic, general services, and insurance sectors recorded losses in the 3% range.
Korea Zinc traded at 1,491,000 KRW, down 322,000 KRW (17.76%) compared to the previous trading day.
At the same time, the KOSDAQ index also hit a new low, falling to 631.20.
