Lee Gun-su Urges Efforts to Restore Baekdudaegan Ridge
Requests Reliable Construction and Caution for Winter Safety Accidents
Lee Seunghwa, the governor of Sancheong County, Gyeongnam, inspected the Baekdudaegan Ecological Corridor Restoration Project being promoted at the summit of Bammeorijae on National Road No. 59.
According to Sancheong County on the 9th, Governor Lee visited the Baekdudaegan Ecological Corridor restoration site, which is being promoted as a key project, and emphasized solid construction.
County Governor Lee Seunghwa is inspecting the ecological corridor restoration project site connecting Jirisan and Ungseokbong.
In particular, he ordered the creation of a high-quality ecological tunnel that reconnects the ridge of Ungseokbong, a mountain ridge branching from Jirisan Cheonwangbong, with the main ridge of Jirisan, to prevent the disruption or damage of wildlife habitats and to facilitate the movement of animals and plants.
He also did not forget to pay special attention to winter safety accidents, including the management of safety facilities.
Governor Lee said, “Bammeorijae is the last ridge of the Ungseokjimaek and connecting it to Jirisan is significant because it allows the energy of Baekdudaegan on the Korean Peninsula to flow deeply into Sancheong beyond Jirisan,” adding, “We will complete the project safely and thoroughly while minimizing inconvenience to the residents.”
