Jeonbuk Province Conducts 'Livestock Product Hygiene Management' Inspections and Audits Until the 27th

For Livestock Product Sales and Meat Packaging Processing Businesses

Jeonbuk Autonomous Province will conduct a special joint crackdown until the 27th to ensure the supply of livestock products and establish a sound distribution order.


According to Jeonbuk Province on the 9th, this crackdown will involve special judicial police, the Animal Quarantine Division, and city and county offices within the province cooperating to inspect livestock product sales businesses and meat packaging processing businesses, checking overall livestock product hygiene management.

The main inspection items include ▲illegal transportation and storage of livestock products such as unauthorized, unlabeled, or unpackaged products ▲compliance with proper temperature during transportation and storage ▲adherence to refrigeration and freezing facility standards ▲livestock product hygiene management standards and business operator compliance requirements.


If any violations are found as a result of the crackdown, offenders may face imprisonment of up to three years or fines of up to 30 million KRW, and in cases of violating refrigeration and freezing facility standards, administrative measures such as a one-month business suspension may be imposed.


Deliberate illegal acts of storing or selling products subject to disposal without marking them will be met with strong administrative sanctions and judicial actions.


Yoon Dong-wook, Director of the Provincial Safety Office, stated, “As the year-end and New Year season approaches, with increased consumption of livestock products during family gatherings and year-end parties, we are conducting a joint crackdown to supply safe livestock products and establish a sound distribution order. Going forward, special judicial police will take the lead in ensuring the safe supply of food for residents through continuous crackdowns in cooperation with related organizations.”


Meanwhile, illegal activities in the fields of food hygiene, livestock products, origin labeling, public hygiene, pharmaceuticals, youth protection, environment, real estate, and forest protection can be reported via the Jeonbuk Special Autonomous Province Special Judicial Police Division’s hotline or the Safety Report app.
