On-site Communication with SMEs Located in Jeongchon Root Industrial Complex, Jinju, Gyeongnam
The Small and Medium Business Corporation (SBC) announced on the 9th that it visited the Jeongchon Root Industrial Complex in Jinju, Gyeongnam, to conduct the on-site communication program for small and medium enterprises called 'Visiting SBC.'
The Jeongchon Root Industrial Complex, which refers to the Jeongchon General Industrial Complex and Jinju Root Industrial Complex, is a representative industrial complex in the western Gyeongnam region, housing 136 companies in strategic industries such as aviation, shipbuilding, metal, and root industries.
At the on-site communication event, Kang Seok-jin, Chairman of SBC, Kim Seong-du, CEO of Ungjeon Industry and Chairman of the Jeongchon Root Industrial Complex Resident Companies Council, Cha Jae-do, CEO of KMC, and representatives from eight resident companies attended.
This program was prepared to proactively identify difficulties faced by small and medium enterprises amid rapidly changing domestic and international business environments, provide necessary policy information, and revitalize the regional economy.
The main topics included ▲ guidance on new support projects for 2025 ▲ measures to strengthen the global competitiveness of companies engaged in key regional industries ▲ phased support for the innovative growth of companies residing in industrial complexes, with in-depth discussions held on these matters.
The businesspeople attending the on-site communication program suggested tailored support suitable for the characteristics of the industrial complex and measures to secure jobs in response to the decline in the local working population, among other ways to enhance the competitiveness of small and medium enterprises. SBC plans to collect the opinions presented and discover new policy projects so that companies can directly feel the effects on-site.
Chairman Kang Seok-jin said, “With the belief that ‘the answer lies in the field,’ I have been steadily visiting company sites to listen to their voices,” adding, “We will further develop the Visiting SBC service to ensure that no small and medium enterprise misses out on support due to lack of awareness of SBC, and we will do our utmost with a proactive attitude to promote the innovative growth of small and medium enterprises.”
