Yangju-si Successfully Concludes 2024 Village Community Achievement Sharing Meeting

Yangju City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kang Su-hyun) announced on the 13th that it held the ‘2024 Yangju City Village Community Performance Sharing Meeting’ on the 12th at the Gyeonggi Textile Comprehensive Support Center, attended by about 80 community members selected for the 2024 public project.

Under the theme ‘A Community with a Name More Fragrant than Flowers,’ the performance sharing meeting featured community performances and presentations of cases by 14 communities in succession. The event was enriched with activity video screenings and exhibitions of community activity achievements, making it a more engaging occasion.


Notably, this performance sharing meeting introduced awards for outstanding communities, selecting three communities?‘Jangheung-myeon Nurigil Walking Council,’ ‘Jilgeureut Self-Support Association,’ and ‘People Growing Together’?as Yangju City’s outstanding communities, adding greater significance to the event.


From next year’s village community public project, an outstanding community stage will be added to the project process.


Mayor Kang Su-hyun expressed gratitude, saying, “Thank you for your efforts in having residents directly think about and solve village problems together through village communities,” and encouraged, “The Yangju City village community public project greatly contributes to restoring the community spirit of Yangju City.”


Meanwhile, the ‘Yangju City Village Community Project’ is a resident-led initiative where citizens themselves plan, propose, and directly execute solutions to common issues closely related to residents’ lives by carrying out various activities to solve village issues and create better living environments. This year, 14 resident-proposed communities and one youth community were selected for the public project and continue their activities across Yangju City for village development.
