Boryeong to Provide Customized Senior Jobs for 250 People Aged 60 and Over Next Year

Customized Job Program for the New Senior Generation... Up to 1.7 Million Won per Person Annually Supported by National Funds

Boryeong to Provide Customized Senior Jobs for 250 People Aged 60 and Over Next Year

Boryeong City, Chungnam Province, announced that it will hire 250 workers aged 60 and over next year as part of a customized job project for the new senior generation, which serves as a leading model for social service.

This project provides government subsidies when senior workers are hired in the social service ESG sectors (such as environment, safety, and welfare services).

If an employer hires workers aged 60 and over who meet the requirements for each project, and the employees work for at least five months (60 hours per month), receive an average monthly salary of 762,000 KRW (as of 2024), and are enrolled in the four major social insurances, they can receive up to 1.7 million KRW per person annually in government subsidies (340,000 KRW per month for up to five months).

To this end, on the 12th, the city signed an agreement with the Daejeon-Chungnam Regional Headquarters of the Korea Labor Force Development Institute for the Aged for the 2025 social service leading model project.

Previously, the city conducted a demand survey and internal assessment through its departments and towns/villages, identified 37 departments and 90 projects that meet the support criteria, and finalized 250 project participants in two areas: improving the local environment and public administration services.

In particular, this project is evaluated as a result of Boryeong City's proactive administration, as it is the first local government in Chungnam Province to implement the project directly.

Mayor Kim Dongil said, "With the securing of national funding through this agreement, we now expect to discover quality senior jobs in a variety of fields, including major tourist attractions such as Daecheon Beach, public restrooms, urban environment maintenance, as well as medical, cultural, and sports facilities. We will do our utmost to ensure that the social service leading model project becomes a specialized leading model unique to Boryeong."
