Pocheon City to Hold New City Hall Completion Ceremony on the 6th of Next Month: "We Will Provide Public Services for Citizens" Pocheon City has completed the expansion construction of the new city hall and will hold a completion ceremony on November 6.

Pocheon City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Young-hyun) announced on the 31st that it will complete the expansion construction of the new city hall building and hold a completion ceremony on November 6.


The completion ceremony will proceed in the following order: pre-performance by the municipal art troupe and classical popera, awarding of plaques of appreciation and commendations to meritorious persons, ribbon-cutting ceremony, commemorative tree planting, and facility tour (rounding).


The new city hall expansion project, which has been underway since 2016, involves demolishing five existing buildings including the disaster situation room and constructing an additional building with a total floor area of 8,102㎡, consisting of one basement floor and five above-ground floors.


The total project cost amounts to 31.9 billion KRW, including 24 billion KRW for construction, 2.32 billion KRW for construction project management services, and 1 billion KRW for equipment procurement.


In addition, a citizen plaza was created as an urban resting space for Pocheon residents. The plaza covers approximately 1,629㎡ and features a natural grass park, comfortable wooden benches, a mist-type cooling system (cooling fog system) to alleviate summer heat, as well as a stage and seating area for cultural performances.


Mayor Baek Young-hyun of Pocheon said, “With the expansion of the new city hall, we will improve the aging building and integrate the scattered departments to significantly enhance the quality of public services. I hope this completion ceremony will serve as an important turning point for a new leap forward in the 8th term of the elected administration.”
