Entertainment tech company Nomers, which operates the comprehensive artist intellectual property (IP) platform Wonderwall and fromm, held an initial public offering (IPO) press conference on the 29th at 63 Square in Yeouido, expressing its ambition to "leap forward as a global comprehensive entertainment solution company" through the listing.
As an 'entertainment technology' company, Nomers provides comprehensive solutions utilizing artist IP. The core of Nomers' business lies in expanding entertainment services through artist IP.
Typically, artists generate revenue through direct activities that reveal their presence and indirect activities showcased through their name and brand. Nomers supports indirect activities by acquiring contractual rights for artists' content production, MD production and sales rights, paid messaging services, and fandom platforms such as fan clubs, in addition to direct activities like album sales and concert hosting.
Nomers does not specialize in a single entertainment service but consolidates all services necessary for the artist growth cycle. Both major IPs and talented rookie IPs can grow their fandom through Nomers' business model, providing the driving force to advance from the domestic market to the global stage. Through a structure where artists and Nomers grow together, a solid network is built, securing numerous IPs that form the foundation of Nomers' business model.
The core of the 'entertainment technology' Nomers aims for is data. Based on data accumulated through Nomers' diverse entertainment businesses?including content, commerce, performances, exhibitions, and platforms?it maximizes the added value and efficiency of individual projects and creates new business opportunities.
Moreover, through performances and platforms, detailed information on how fans consume artist IP from various angles can be collected in depth. With this accumulated data, Nomers can compose content and commerce MDs that generate more effective and higher added value, and even implement market entry strategies such as forming new units within the group and targeting specific regions and age groups.
Through these data-driven business capabilities, Nomers has secured 325 artist IPs. As of the first half of this year, it recorded sales of 27.7 billion KRW and an operating profit of 3.1 billion KRW, successfully turning profitable. It has secured successful references by conducting overseas tours for top-tier artists including Mamamoo, Cha Eun-woo, and IU.
Nomers' competitors mostly build single business models focusing on fan platforms, performances, or MD. In single business models, services are typically provided individually to agencies holding IP. In contrast, Nomers offers a comprehensive solution for artist IP by managing all activities and IP businesses beyond music and albums together with Nomers for a single artist IP.
Kim Young-jun, CEO of Nomers, said, "The reason we introduce Nomers as an 'entertainment technology' company is that through IT technology and data analysis, artists and fans can meet more conveniently in the entertainment industry, and business efficiency can be improved." He added, "Multi-service creates a solid value chain that responds to market conditions that vary due to multiple factors and complements business risks that cause losses." He further stated, "The network with artists, the source of Nomers' services, also becomes stronger, forming a foundation for stable business operations."
Nomers plans to offer 1.13 million shares through this listing. The expected public offering price per share ranges from 27,200 KRW to 30,200 KRW, with a total expected offering amount of approximately 30.7 billion to 34.1 billion KRW. The institutional investor book-building will be conducted over five trading days from October 23rd to today. General subscription will take place over two days from November 4th to November 5th, aiming for a listing within November. Daishin Securities is the lead underwriter for the listing.
