‘2024 Dosisul Healing Festa’ Held... Connecting Forests and People
Art Exhibitions and Experience Programs Enjoyed Under the Daewang Oak Tree
Gumi City in Gyeongbuk will hold the '2024 Urban Forest Healing Festa' for two days starting from the 26th at Indong Urban Forest.
This event showcases various experiential programs and art exhibitions utilizing the symbolism of the urban forest and Gumi City's urban resources.
On the 26th, art exhibitions will be held in some sections of the urban forest, and on the 27th, various experiential programs will run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Diverse programs themed around the urban forest, such as the 'Life Bookstore in the Urban Forest' walking experience, upcycling art workshops, and forest theater performances for families, will welcome citizens.
This festa is designed as an opportunity to reexamine the healing and environmental values of the urban forest in the industrial city of Gumi, beyond being a simple resting space. Participants are expected to enjoy various experiences in the forest, feel the importance of nature, and raise awareness about environmental protection.
Indong Urban Forest is a 5 km round-trip walking trail developed between 2007 and 2020, characterized by sidewalks lined with large oak trees on both sides. It is a popular spot frequently visited by citizens due to its proximity to residential areas, and in 2023, it was recognized for its value by being certified as a 'National Model Urban Forest' by the Korea Forest Service.
