A woman in her 30s with the thickest tongue in the world has appeared and broken the Guinness World Record.

According to the U.S. news agency UPI, recently Italian woman Ambra Collina (37) was newly registered in the Guinness World Records as "the woman with the thickest tongue in the world." According to the report, Ambra has a tongue that grows so large when she exerts force that it surpasses the size of a ping pong ball (about 12.5 cm). She said, "I saw a photo of Dante Barnes, a man who held the Guinness record for the thickest tongue," and proudly showed off her unique talent of inflating her tongue to a circumference larger than a golf ball (about 13.6 cm).

When measured for thickness, Collina's tongue circumference was confirmed to be an astonishing 13.8 cm. This surpasses the record of American woman Jenny DuVander, who was known earlier this year with a circumference of 13.2 cm, officially recognizing Collina as the woman with the thickest tongue in the world. Regarding this, Collina said, "I grew up admiring the holders of Guinness World Records," and added, "I am really proud to be part of this record." She also mentioned, "The ability to inflate my tongue to make it thick was just a party trick to entertain my friends," and added, "I found out later that I could set a Guinness record with it."

Previously, on October 26 last year, Guinness World Records (GWR) announced that American man Braydon McCullough (20) broke the world record by inflating his tongue up to 16 cm. He reportedly broke the previous record of Belgian man Sacha Feiner, which was 14.73 cm. In response, Feiner researched new methods to inflate his tongue even thicker to reclaim his title. Finally, he confirmed that "bending the tongue into a square shape makes it thicker," took on a new challenge, and achieved a result of 17 cm, reclaiming the title of "the man with the thickest tongue in the world."
