Additionally, the U.S. Department of Labor reported that new unemployment claims decreased by 4,000 to 218,000 compared to the previous week. The number of new claims is the lowest in four months since the week of May 12?18 (216,000 claims).

Continuing unemployment claims, which represent those filing for benefits for two weeks or more, rose by 13,000 to 1,834,000 in the week of September 8?14 compared to the previous week.

Following the Federal Reserve's recent 'big cut' decision, there have been many opinions about the U.S. economy, and Wall Street is closely monitoring trends in the U.S. labor market.
