Sandan Gong supports lithium battery fire extinguishers for battery-related manufacturers

Free Distribution from September to 60 Small Battery-Related Companies in the Jurisdictional Industrial Complex

The Korea Industrial Complex Corporation announced on the 26th that it will provide lithium battery fire extinguishers to manufacturing companies related to batteries located in its jurisdictional industrial complexes to prevent workplace fires.

This project was planned to prevent similar fire accidents at battery-related manufacturing plants within the industrial complexes and to contribute to the spread of a safety culture, following the fire accident at a primary battery manufacturing plant in Hwaseong in June, which resulted in a large number of casualties.

The Korea Industrial Complex Corporation identified 67 battery-related manufacturing companies within its 67 jurisdictional industrial complexes and began providing fire extinguishers from September to 60 small enterprises among them that have relatively limited capacity to invest in safety management.

The fire extinguishers are distributed nationwide to regions including Seoul, Incheon Gyeonggi, Gyeongbuk, Ulsan, Gyeongnam, Gwangju, Jeonnam, and Chungcheong, and the distributed extinguishers are 2.5ℓ capacity wet chemical extinguishers.

Lee Sang-hoon, Chairman of the Korea Industrial Complex Corporation, also visited Samwoo SB, a small and medium-sized primary battery manufacturing company located in Namdong National Industrial Complex, on the 25th to deliver fire extinguishers and listen to the on-site safety management situation and related difficulties.

Chairman Lee said, “I hope that battery-related manufacturers within the industrial complexes recognize the importance of fire prevention and strengthen safety measures,” adding, “We will continue to actively strive to create a safe workplace through ongoing support.”
