'Ddokbus' is a Gyeonggi Province-style DRT service that operates flexibly based on passenger requests without fixed routes or schedules, targeting newly developed residential areas or transportation blind spots where securing public transportation is difficult.
Accordingly, five 13-passenger buses will be operated in both the Bongdam and Namyang~Mado areas. The city plans to offer a free trial operation for one week from the 23rd to the 29th, followed by official paid service starting on the 30th.
To use the service, users must install the 'Ddokta' app, sign up as members, and register a transportation card. The fare is the same as the existing city bus fare, and transfer discounts are also available.
Jung Myung-geun, Mayor of Hwaseong City, expressed expectations that "Ddokbus will play an important role in the balanced urban development of the southwestern region and the establishment of the main arterial system."
