Busan-Style Smart Transportation Platform Proves Effective... Receives High Scores from Judges and On-Site Participants
On the 10th and 11th, the city of Busan received the "Minister of the Interior and Safety Award" at the "41st Regional Informatization Best Practices Presentation Contest" hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.

The "Regional Informatization Best Practices Presentation Contest" is a competition where local governments across the country present outstanding informatization policies, related research projects, or cases of utilizing digital technologies.
Sixteen metropolitan and provincial governments submit research projects, and ten are selected through public and written evaluations. The final award recipients are determined based on a combination of presentation assessments and on-site evaluations.
In this year's presentation, the city introduced the "Busan-style Smart Transportation Platform," which aims to improve road traffic flow through real-time optimal signal operation using smart intersection data?the first of its kind nationwide?and by integrating and sharing traffic information from marine bridges and connecting roads.
With the establishment of the smart transportation platform, rapid dissemination of information in the event of disasters or accidents has become possible, and emergency vehicle priority signals from the 119 Safety Center to accident sites and hospitals have been improved and advanced.
This achievement was highly rated by both judges and on-site participants for its effectiveness in securing the golden time to protect citizens' lives and property, making the platform's benefits tangible for residents.
Kim Bongcheol, Director of the Administrative Autonomy Bureau of the city, stated, "Our city will do its utmost to create a convenient and prosperous Busan by actively discovering and promoting various citizen-centered informatization policies, including the Busan-style Smart Transportation Platform."
