Butuan City Mayor and Delegation from the Philippines Visit Busan Port for Benchmarking

Busan Port Authority (BPA, President Kang Junseok) announced on the 14th that a delegation led by Ronnie Vicente C. Lagnada, Mayor of Butuan City in the Philippines, recently visited Busan Port.


Mayor Lagnada and his delegation visited to directly benchmark Busan Port's advanced infrastructure construction technology and operational methods, and to gain know-how and advice regarding the new port construction project being promoted in Butuan City.


Located in the northeastern part of Mindanao Island, Butuan City serves as a commercial and industrial hub and plays a significant role in the Philippine economy. The city is expanding its port infrastructure to revitalize trade with major Southeast Asian countries.


The delegation led by Mayor Lagnada received a detailed explanation of Busan Port's advanced automation systems and infrastructure development, and held in-depth discussions on how to apply Busan Port's successful operational methods to Butuan City's port development.


Kang Junseok, President of BPA, stated, "We are pleased that Busan Port's construction experience and technological capabilities can contribute to Butuan City's port development project," and added, "We will continue to share our know-how in port construction, automation systems, and eco-friendly policies to provide practical assistance for the development of Butuan City's port."


Busan Port, as a model case for port development in developing countries, has become a benchmark for many developing nations such as Vietnam and the Philippines.
