Posted Third Statement of Feelings After Prosecutors' Search
"A World Where Staying Still Makes You a Fool"
Regarding the prosecution's investigation into the alleged preferential hiring of former President Moon Jae-in's ex-son-in-law, Mr. Seo, at Thai Starjet, Moon's daughter, Dahye, once again posted on social media. On the 12th, around 5 a.m., Dahye wrote on her X (formerly Twitter) account, "In a world where doing nothing and staying still makes you a fool, and staying still makes it a fait accompli," adding, "Above all, I feel I can no longer endure it, so I have decided to write for myself."

Last month, the prosecution conducted a search and seizure at Dahye's residence. Dahye said, "I realized that being subjected to a search and seizure at my home, even though I am not a criminal, is something that takes time to truly settle," adding, "A wave of shame overwhelmed me, and I was flustered."
She continued, "When they were rummaging through for hours, I comforted myself by thinking there was nothing to be ashamed of, but once it ended and they left, that was just the beginning," stating, "Before the items left as evidence were selected, I wanted to throw away all the things I once cherished. I hung thick blackout curtains on the windows I had left bright for lighting."
She also said, "'They' are people, and I am a person too. At the same time, they are horses, and I am merely a horse as well. This is self-evident," adding, "I am just a horse who must be trampled and dirtied to point a knife at my father, and they are weary horses who must show something in this unprecedented political situation composed entirely of 'them' (the prosecution), including the president and party leaders."
Finally, Dahye concluded, "That does not mean I can be indifferent," saying, "For nearly ten years, all my private life has been exposed under the guise of the public's right to know. No one becomes accustomed or indifferent to such repetitive and continuous violations that annihilate one's dignity."
Earlier, on the 30th of last month, the Criminal Division 3 of the Jeonju District Prosecutors' Office conducted search and seizure operations at three locations, including Dahye's home in Buam-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, and an exhibition planning company she operates in Seodaemun-gu, Seoul. The search warrant listed former President Moon as a 'suspect in bribery and other charges.' The amount of the bribe was specified as approximately 223 million KRW, which included salary and living expenses received by Mr. Seo from July 2018 to April 2020 while employed as an executive at Thai Starjet, a Thai airline owned by former Democratic Party lawmaker Lee Sang-jik. Dahye had posted complaints about this on the 31st of last month and on the 3rd of this month, following the search and seizure.
