Key executives from both companies attended the business agreement ceremony, including Yoonseong Cho, Chief Business Officer (Vice President) of Keion Network, and Guyoung Kim, Head of Enterprise Sales CP at SK Broadband.

The wired network supply cooperation agreement centers on SK Broadband providing ultra-high-speed internet dedicated lines required by Keion Network when building networks for subways and local governments. Keion Network will receive SK Broadband's ultra-high-speed internet communication network and supply it to wireless relay units (mDRU), offering 5G-grade wireless communication networks built at subway and local government sites to citizens free of charge.

Keion Network plans to provide free Wi-Fi service with speeds up to 2.4Gbps, which is up to 20 times faster than LTE-based Wi-Fi, through the 22GHz to 23.6GHz frequency band.

Through this cooperation, they plan to build a stable communication network ecosystem including ultra-high-speed free Wi-Fi services, contributing to reducing users' communication expenses.

Keion Network intends to rapidly advance its projects for establishing major hotspot zones in local governments through cooperation with SK Broadband and will also strengthen collaboration between the two companies in the public service market.

Following the selection of a backbone network provider, Keion Network will soon announce the selection of a backup network provider. Through network redundancy, Keion Network plans to minimize inconvenience to citizens using the metro ultra-high-speed communication network in case of emergencies.

Vice President Cho stated, "With the support and cooperation of SK Broadband, we have established a more stable communication service and business system," adding, "This is essential for building a nationwide metro ultra-high-speed communication network and marks a step closer to reducing national household communication expenses."
