Yeongdeok County Conducts On-Site Inspection of Areas at Risk of Landslides

All-Out Efforts to Prevent Casualties from Landslides

Mun Sungjun, the Deputy Governor of Yeongdeok County, Gyeongbuk, recently visited areas at risk of landslides due to abnormal weather and sudden heavy rainfall to conduct on-site inspections.

On the 6th, Deputy Governor Mun visited locations designated as areas of concern for landslide casualties and vulnerable regions, including Gasanni, Borimni, and Baekcheongni in Changsu-myeon, Daejinni and Sajinni in Yeonghae-myeon, and Obori in Yeongdeok-eup. He ordered emergency reinforcement in urgent locations and instructed thorough evacuation measures for residents in vulnerable groups.


In addition, Yeongdeok County plans to continue on-site inspections of landslide-prone areas and, until the peak summer vacation season on the 16th, will tour forest recreation facilities, forest roads, and mountain development sites to inform local residents about national safety guidelines and evacuation procedures in case of emergencies.


Mun Sungjun, Deputy Governor of Yeongdeok, stated, "Along with these on-site inspections, we will operate a landslide prevention task force to prepare for upcoming typhoons and continuously inspect landslide-prone and high-risk areas to ensure a safe living environment for our residents."
