National Youth Forest Ecology Exploration Team Visits Sancheong

Jirisan Dulle-gil Trek: An Opportunity to Experience the Beauty and Value of the Forest

Sancheong County in Gyeongnam announced that the National Youth Forest Ecology Exploration Team explored the Jirisan Dulle-gil Trail from the 24th to the 25th.

This event, hosted by the Korea Forest Service and organized by the Korea Hiking & Trekking Support Center and the Korea Alpine Federation, was designed to foster the spirit of adventure in youth and provide an opportunity to appreciate the beauty and value of the forest.

The exploration was divided into two groups: one covered a 6km section from the Jungsan-ri Visitor Center through Beopgye-sa Temple to the Gyeongnam Environmental Education Center, while the other followed the 9.5km section of the Jirisan Dulle-gil Trail Course 8 (Unri-Deoksan), from Unri Village through Baegun Valley to Munsu-am Hermitage, allowing participants to enjoy the beautiful and scenic nature of Sancheong.

Sancheong County, together with the Sancheong County Forestry Cooperative, welcomed the participants warmly, promoted Sancheong, and provided small souvenirs to help create lasting memories.

One participant shared, "It was a meaningful time to experience the beautiful natural scenery, which is hard to find in the city, together with new friends here in Sancheong. I would like to visit again with my family and friends."

Choi Taesik, head of the Forest and Greenery Division of Sancheong County, said, "This event was a great opportunity to promote Sancheong as the center of forest ecology exploration in Korea. We will do our best to maintain the hiking trails and manage forest ecology exploration facilities so that many visitors from across the country can enjoy a rewarding time with nature in Sancheong, home of Jirisan."
