Preliminary Round Held Online... 10 Teams Advance to Finals
Finals on 20-21, Total Prize Money of 10 Million Won
Yeosu City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Jeong Gi-myeong) announced that the final round of the "2024 Yeosu City eSports Festival" will be held for two days starting from the 20th at Heungguk Gymnasium.
The competition categories include ▲League of Legends (General/Youth Division, Team Competition) ▲FC Online (General/Youth Division, Individual Competition) ▲StarCraft (General Division, Individual Competition), with a total of 195 teams and 455 participants.
Participants competed in the preliminary rounds online from June 29 to July 7, and 10 teams advanced to the finals after intense competition.
On the day of the finals, certified eSports referees and professional casters will be invited to ensure fair judging and to convey the lively atmosphere of the event. The top 1st to 3rd place winners in each category will receive the Yeosu Mayor’s Award and a total prize money of 10 million KRW, distributed accordingly.
In addition to the main tournament, side events will be held using auxiliary stages, including ▲League of Legends team competition with YouTube creators (Baekkeu, Jed99) (pre-registration required) ▲Valorant (pre-registration required) ▲KartRider: Drift (on-site registration) and other event matches.
Other various side events will also be prepared, such as ▲nostalgic arcade and console games for families to enjoy together ▲e-Run camping ▲cosplay photo time ▲game character face painting, hair, and beauty experiences ▲instant photos ▲and the 2024 Jeonnam eSports Competition promotional booth.
A city official said, “Thanks to the enthusiastic support last year, we are prepared again this year,” adding, “We hope eSports will establish itself as a new leisure culture enjoyed by the whole family and contribute to fostering a healthy gaming culture.”
