Operated every Saturday in August for 4 sessions of 4 hours each
Recorded in the student record under creative experiential activities upon completion
Seocho-gu, Seoul (Mayor Jeon Seong-su) is recruiting students to participate in the 'Seoripul Architecture School' for local youth aspiring to become future architects until the 14th of this month.
The 'Seoripul Architecture School,' made possible through the talent donation of the Seocho-gu Architects Association, is a program designed to expand interest in architecture and provide career experience opportunities to young people who are struggling with career choices.
This year, the program is expected to be even more meaningful as the activities will be recorded in the creative experiential activities (career activities or autonomous activities) section of the school life record upon completion of the Seoripul Architecture School.
The Architecture School will be held four times in total, every Saturday in August from 1 PM to 5 PM, covering four different themes, and is designed to be easy and familiar for anyone to approach.
In the first session, there will be an introduction to the architect profession and a time to communicate about 'the house I want to live in.' In the second session, participants will try concept sketching and share thoughts related to architectural design while touring outstanding architectural works.
In the third session, participants will draw plans and elevations with an architect and experience being an architect by making Mass models. The final fourth session will be conducted in a PIN-UP format, where participants will share their impressions of the works they have created so far.
Fifty participants will be recruited on a first-come, first-served basis, and the course fee is free. Students who wish to participate can fill out the application form posted on the Seocho-gu Office website and submit it via email by the 14th of this month. For more details, please contact the Architecture Management Team of the Architecture Division at Seocho-gu Office.
Mayor Jeon Seong-su said, “We have prepared a program where students interested in architecture can explore outstanding architectural works and experience actual architect tasks,” adding, “We hope this Seoripul Architecture School will greatly help students in their career choices.”
