Goo Inmo, Geochang County Governor, Requests Support for National Funding Projects During Second Visit to Central Ministries

Requests for 1.435 Trillion KRW in Funding for 13 National Projects Submitted to Three Ministries Including the Ministry of Economy and Finance

Geochang County in Gyeongnam announced that on the 3rd, a team of 17 members led by County Governor Koo Inmo visited three central government ministries?Ministry of Economy and Finance, Ministry of the Interior and Safety, and Ministry of Health and Welfare?to request national funding support for Geochang County’s key projects totaling 143.5 billion KRW.

During this second visit, the team proposed the inclusion of national funding for three projects to the Ministry of Economy and Finance (Budget Office Director): the Gimcheon-ri Natural Disaster Risk Area Improvement Project, the construction of the Southern Veterans Resort (directly by the state), and the Old Water Supply Pipeline Maintenance Project. They also requested funding from the Ministry of Health and Welfare (Director of Senior Citizens Support Division) for the construction of a crematorium in Geochang County.

County Governor Gu Inmo is visiting the Ministry of Economy and Finance to request national funding support.

Additionally, at the Ministry of the Interior and Safety (Special Grant Tax Division Chief), they requested national funding for nine projects applying for special grant tax in the first half of this year, bringing the total to 13 national funding projects amounting to 143.5 billion KRW.

On April 23 and 24, the team also visited seven central government ministries, including the Ministry of Economy and Finance, the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, to request support for six Geochang County projects totaling 145.3 billion KRW and four state-led projects totaling 3.9715 trillion KRW, making a total of 10 projects and 4.1168 trillion KRW in national funding support.

Governor Koo stated, “For the happiness of our residents, regional growth, prosperity, and a better quality of life in Geochang, I will personally take the lead and work tirelessly to secure essential national and provincial funding,” adding, “I hope all residents and those from Geochang living elsewhere will unite and join forces to maximize next year’s national funding.”

Meanwhile, in the challenging local financial environment caused by the government’s ongoing fiscal tightening, the county has set a target of securing 292.9 billion KRW in national and provincial funding?15.4 billion KRW more than last year?to continuously and flexibly pursue ongoing key projects. Led by the governor, the county is mobilizing all administrative resources and making direct appeals to central ministries to secure funding.
