Import and Distribution of the Film 'Isoryong-Deul' with Bruce Lee's Affection
Broadcaster Lee Kyung-kyu shared behind-the-scenes stories of the movie 'Revenge Battle,' which he personally produced and starred in.
On the 21st, Lee Kyung-kyu appeared on MBC Radio's 'Hello, This is Lee Moon-se' and mentioned the documentary film 'Bruce Lee-Del,' which he directly imported and distributed. "I have imported a movie this time," he said.
He said, "The movie has already been released. The response is quite good," and laughed, "Because of Bruce Lee, I made 'Revenge Battle.' If it weren't for Bruce Lee, I would have had a building in Gangnam." He also lamented, "I was so obsessed that I lost half of my fortune."
In response to Lee Moon-se's comment, "Who in the past disliked Bruce Lee?" he replied, "There was a certain level of dislike, but I crossed the line with actions that should not have been done, and I produced it."
Regarding 'Bruce Lee-Del,' he said, "It came to the Bucheon Fantastic Film Festival this time. I decided to import it because I thought it should be known to more people." He added, "For our generation, it brings back memories, and for those who didn't know, I wanted to show why Bruce Lee was a 20th-century icon." He hoped it would be an opportunity to remind peers of their memories and to inform younger audiences why Bruce Lee became a 20th-century icon.
The movie 'Revenge Battle,' released in 1992, attracted attention as Lee Kyung-kyu took charge of planning, writing, and starring, but it failed at the box office. Lee Kyung-kyu, a graduate of Dongguk University’s Department of Theater and Film, is known to have entered the school out of his fandom for Bruce Lee during his school days.
Earlier, on the 16th, Lee Kyung-kyu also expressed deep affection by calling Bruce Lee his "soulmate" during an interview on JTBC Newsroom's special guest segment.
