Goodwill Dental Hospital, Hansung Motors, Ensys, and Others Selected
The awards ceremony for the ‘2024 Busan Region Outstanding Work-Learning Dual System Case Competition,’ hosted by the Busan Regional Headquarters of the Human Resources Development Service of Korea, was successfully held at the Avani Central Busan Hotel.
This competition served as an opportunity to discover and share outstanding cases of companies and individuals who have been recognized for their learning and achievements in the field through the Work-Learning Dual System. Various companies and workers from the Busan region participated, adding further significance to the event.
The Work-Learning Dual System is a ‘field-based training’ program designed to suit the circumstances of Korea, modeled after workplace-based learning systems in countries such as Germany and Switzerland. Since its introduction in 2014, companies have hired workers first and then provided at least one year of apprenticeship-style on-the-job training and off-site education based on the National Competency Standards (NCS), granting qualifications through evaluation.
This outstanding case competition was held for the first time in the Busan region. At the awards ceremony, companies and individuals who achieved excellent results in three categories?learning companies, company field instructors, and learning workers?were honored. The best cases from each category were also introduced during the ceremony.
By category, the winners were: ▲Goodwill Dental Hospital (Learning Company ? Grand Prize) ▲Han Sung Motors Jin Yongju (Company Field Instructor ? Grand Prize) ▲One Age V Kim Kyungmin (Company Field Instructor ? Excellence Award) ▲Kyung Sung Industry (Company Field Instructor ? Merit Award) ▲NCSYS Kim Kwansu (Learning Worker ? Grand Prize) ▲BNK System Kim Dokyun (Learning Worker ? Excellence Award) ▲Han Sung Motors Jang Jaehwan (Learning Worker ? Merit Award).
Additionally, the competition was held alongside the ‘Workplace Learning Quality Management Group’ meeting, a council for the expansion and quality improvement of corporate vocational training projects, where discussions on ways to further spread corporate vocational training also took place.
Shin Seungsik, Director of the Busan Regional Headquarters of the Human Resources Development Service of Korea, stated, “Through this competition, we were able to discover and share outstanding examples of companies and workers in the Busan region. We will continue to do our best to create an environment where both companies and workers can grow together.”
