Incheon Urban Corporation, Incheon Facilities Corporation, and others will relocate to Seo-gu Luwon City in the second half of next year, marking the full-scale rearrangement of public facilities in Incheon.
Incheon City established and announced on the 11th a basic plan for the relocation of public facilities to improve administrative efficiency and user convenience, thereby enhancing administrative services for citizens.
According to this plan, the Luwon Complex Building, scheduled for completion in July next year, will facilitate the relocation of Incheon Urban Corporation, Incheon Facilities Corporation, Incheon Environmental Corporation, Western Waterworks Office, Michuhol Call Center, and Child Welfare Center, among others.
The Luwon Complex Building, currently under construction by the city, has reached 50% progress. After its completion in July next year, the relevant public enterprises will move in following preparation procedures and office space arrangements from August to October. The city expects that the relocation of these public facilities to the Luwon Complex Building will greatly contribute to the revitalization of Luwon City and the balanced development of the northwestern region of Incheon.
The existing office building of the Urban Corporation in Mansu-dong, Namdong-gu, which the Incheon Urban Corporation is leaving, will be occupied by two public institutions under the city: the Urban Railroad Construction Headquarters and the General Construction Headquarters. The city anticipates that this will help prevent regional hollowing out caused by the Urban Corporation's relocation and maintain the local commercial district.
The city’s Social Welfare Center located in Ganseok-dong, Namdong-gu, is planned to be newly built and relocated to Hakik-dong, Michuhol-gu. Currently, the Social Welfare Center has poor accessibility for mobility-impaired individuals and lacks convenience facilities and parking lots.
After the relocation, plans are underway to consolidate facilities such as the Women's Emergency Call 1366, Digital Sexual Crime Prevention Response Center, Sexual Violence Victim Counseling Center, and Emergency Housing Support Center for Stalking Victims in the existing Social Welfare Center building.
Additionally, the Incheon Veterans Hall located in Ganseok-dong, Namdong-gu, will be relocated to a newly constructed 'Integrated Veterans Hall' in the same neighborhood. The city plans to gather the offices of veterans organizations scattered throughout the city into one place, creating a landmark building for veterans' culture. The aging Incheon Subong Cultural Center will be replaced by an 'Artists' Hall' built on secured land, serving as a communication space for local artists.
Furthermore, the city plans to improve efficiency by reorganizing spaces such as the Youth Culture Creation Center, Artists' Residence, Incheon Film Commission, and the new city hall building. Facilities requiring space utilization plans will be adjusted, and a comprehensive relocation of public facilities across culture, welfare, and sports sectors will be promoted.
Cheon Junho, Director of Planning and Coordination at Incheon City, said, "We have comprehensively reviewed the efficiency, accessibility, and convenience of public facilities under the city and established a relocation plan. We will do our best to ensure that citizens can use public facilities comfortably and conveniently."
