The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education will begin accepting applications for the 2nd Elementary, Middle, and High School Equivalency Examinations from the 17th of this month.
The Office announced on the 7th that in-person applications will be accepted from the 17th to the 21st of this month, and online applications from the 17th to the 20th, at 25 education support offices across the province and through the 'NEIS Equivalency Exam Service (https://kged.go.kr)'.
To enhance convenience for applicants, the Office will support a simple authentication feature for online application login and expand the exam districts from 2 regions (Suwon, Uijeongbu) to 4 regions by adding Yongin and Goyang cities.
When applying in person, the exam location will be assigned based on the education support office where the application is submitted, regardless of the applicant's registered address or actual residence, so applicants must check the exam district for each application location (education support office) in advance.
Online applicants can select their preferred exam district when submitting their application.
The exam date for this equivalency test is August 8, and successful candidates will be announced on August 30 through the Office of Education’s website.
Jimi-sook, Director of Lifelong Education at the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education, stated, "The equivalency exam is a meaningful test that provides an opportunity for out-of-school youth and adults who were unable to complete the regular education curriculum due to unavoidable reasons to obtain academic qualifications. We will do our best to support applicants so that they can take the exam without any inconvenience."
