On the 8th, Parents' Day, Mr. Kim Mansik (87, pseudonym) sat in a wheelchair, looking out a window covered with opaque film at a nursing home in Seoul.

Half of the window was covered as a desperate measure due to complaints from residents living near the nursing home. A nursing home official said, "People living nearby filed complaints saying they felt uncomfortable seeing the elderly here from their homes," adding, "'It's scary to see dementia patients wandering around at night,' 'Please don't let them go out into the neighborhood in wheelchairs,' and 'Please cover the windows completely so we can't see the elderly from our homes,'" expressing regret.
