Busan Gijang-gun, 'Andersen Theater' Reopens... Play 'Seonmul'

Group Viewing Starts on the 9th, Individual Viewing Every Weekend Until the 19th

Busan Gijang-gun (Governor Jeong Jong-bok) will present the play "Gift" for children and families as the Andersen Theater located in Jangan-eup reopens.

The Andersen Theater had suspended operations since January 2023 due to the construction of Andersen Village and Fairy Tale Village on the premises, but recently completed the construction and decided to reopen.

To commemorate the reopening, the county will provide unique attractions such as a photo zone for residents visiting the theater.

The play "Gift," debuting with the reopening, is a family play inspired by the original fairy tales of Bang Jeong-hwan. It tells the story of a 9-year-old protagonist named "Gongman," who loves only studying, meeting a mysterious grandfather and embarking on a journey to the past to find the true meaning of childhood.

The performances will begin with group viewings on May 9 (10:30 AM and 1:30 PM), followed by individual viewings twice every weekend from May 11 to 19 (11:30 AM and 2:00 PM).

Reservations can be made on the official Andersen Theater website, and all admission is free.

Governor Jeong Jong-bok said, "The reopening of Andersen Theater is expected to satisfy the increased cultural and artistic demands of local residents by offering abundant performances and attractions. We ask for the interest and participation of all residents and hope they create precious memories during Family Month."
