Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo-gu, attended the completion ceremony of the ‘Hyo-do Bapsang Side Dish Factory’ located at 450-3 Mangwon-dong, Mapo-gu, on the afternoon of the 15th.
The ‘Hyo-do Bapsang Side Dish Factory’ is a large-scale food preparation facility built since the second half of last year to expand the ‘Resident Participation Hyo-do Bapsang’ project, a representative senior welfare program in Mapo-gu, and construction was completed on the 12th.
About 200 people, including Park Gang-su, Mayor of Mapo-gu, local council members, senior citizens’ associations from community centers, sponsors, the Hyo-do Bapsang promotion team leader, volunteers, and professional organizations, gathered to celebrate the birth of the side dish factory.
The completion ceremony opened with various attractions such as a pungmul band performance and a choir singing the Hyo-do Bapsang theme song, followed by Mayor Park Gang-su’s greeting, awards and plaques of appreciation presentation, congratulatory performances, unveiling ceremony, and commemorative photo session.
In his greeting, Mayor Park Gang-su said, “We established the side dish factory to efficiently expand the project without increasing the budget, enabling 1,500 seniors to enjoy Hyo-do Bapsang daily,” adding, “Mapo-gu will do its best until the day when all seniors in the region can enjoy the nation’s first Hyo-do Bapsang.”
Meanwhile, on the morning of the 15th, Mayor Park Gang-su visited Ssamsi Gyeongnodang, the third branch of Hyo-do Bapsang in Mangwon 2-dong, where he unveiled the signboard and personally greeted and checked on the health of each senior participating in the Hyo-do Bapsang program.
