The Olympic men's football team, led by coach Hwang Sun-hong, has arrived in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE), embarking on their journey to qualify for their 10th consecutive Olympic finals.
The Olympic football team arrived at the local team accommodation in Dubai on the 6th (Korean time). The team departed from Incheon International Airport the previous day.
The team will participate in the 2024 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Under-23 (U-23) Asian Cup held in Qatar starting on the 15th, aiming for a ticket to Paris. The top three teams in this tournament will qualify directly for the Paris Olympics, while the team finishing in 4th place must compete in an intercontinental playoff against Guinea, the 4th place team from the Confederation of African Football (CAF) qualifiers.
Korea has been placed in Group B alongside Japan, China, and the UAE in the group stage of this tournament.
The Hwang Sun-hong squad, consisting of 19 players including those who departed from Incheon and overseas player Kim Min-woo (D?sseldorf), will begin their first local training session in the afternoon. They plan to enter Qatar, the final battleground, on the 10th.
