Osan City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 29th that it will implement the 'Pre-Pregnancy Health Management Support Project,' which provides essential fertility examination expenses for couples hoping to conceive, starting from the 1st of next month.
This project also includes common-law couples and engaged couples as eligible recipients. For women, up to 130,000 KRW will be supported for ovarian function tests and reproductive organ ultrasound examinations, and for men, up to 50,000 KRW will be supported for detailed sperm morphology tests.
Support is limited to examinations conducted at participating medical institutions, and even if each test is performed at different participating medical institutions, support can still be received.
Kim Hee, Director of Health Promotion at Osan City, stated, "We will continue to strive to provide broad support to families hoping to conceive in order to overcome the low birth rate."
