Busan City has completed the establishment of the children's complex cultural space 'Deullaknallak' at Dong-gu Cultural Platform (former Busanjin Station) Citizen's Square, and will officially open it on February 1.
Deullaknallak at Dong-gu Citizen's Square is located on the first floor above ground, with a total floor area of 387.5 ㎡, and a total project cost of 2.1 billion KRW (1.8 billion KRW from the city, 300 million KRW from the district) was invested in its creation.
Here, visitors can enjoy a variety of fun digital contents that all families, including children, can experience together.
Main contents include ▲a children's book reading area ▲a media art zone where visitors can view world masterpieces and global tourist attractions ▲a game zone where users can move characters on the screen using their bodies ▲a live sketch zone where drawings colored by visitors appear on the screen ▲and an EBS Play Zone utilizing EBS educational content.
In the outdoor space, six types of play facilities such as jumping in place, four corners game, and snail game are installed on the ground using eco-friendly special materials, allowing families to share nostalgic moments together.
The opening ceremony will be held on the 26th at 2:30 PM in front of the site. About 150 people including the mayor, Dong-gu district chief, members of the National Assembly, and parents will attend to celebrate the opening and tour the facility.
Before the ceremony, various attractions such as performances by the tall uncle character and a Disney musical congratulatory show will be provided.
Mayor Park Hyung-jun said, “The former Busanjin Station, which had long been unused, has been transformed into the Dong-gu Cultural Platform, and now the children's complex cultural space Deullaknallak has been established here. This allows parents to use good cultural facilities close to home with their children, and we expect the laughter of children to bring more vitality to the old downtown area.”
Deullaknallak is a new-concept future playground where children can engage in complex activities such as reading, cultural experiences, and digital content close to home, serving as a core comprehensive support (anchor) facility of the 15-minute city Busan.
The city aims to establish 200 such spaces by 2026. So far, 43 locations including Dong-gu Citizen's Square Deullaknallak have been opened, and 41 more are under development.
Information on the overall status and operating programs of Deullaknallak can be found through the Deullaknallak platform.
