Korea's Largest Semiconductor Academic Conference 'KCS' to be Held on the 24th

Record-Breaking Number of Paper Presentations This Year
Over 3,000 Domestic Experts Attend

The 31st Korea Semiconductor Conference (KCS 2024), jointly hosted by the Korea Semiconductor Industry Association, the Korea Semiconductor Research Consortium, and POSTECH, will be held from the 24th to the 26th at the Gyeongju HICO (HwaBaek Convention Center).


KCS is the largest academic conference in the domestic semiconductor field, where more than 3,000 semiconductor industry, academia, research experts, and students?including semiconductor companies such as Samsung Electronics, SK Hynix, and DB HiTek?share new research achievements, grasp the latest academic and technological information, and discuss cooperation plans.

The theme of this year’s event is 'Semiconductor for Heterogeneous Innovations,' and a record-high 1,348 papers will be presented. This result demonstrates the achievements in semiconductor workforce development, with 183 undergraduate students also participating to present poster papers.


In addition, an exhibition consisting of about 50 companies and 60 booths will be held simultaneously. The exhibition scale is also the largest in the history of the conference.


This year’s keynote speakers include Professor Deok-Kyun Jung, Professor Emeritus at Seoul National University, and Cheol-Hong Park, Executive Director of Hyundai Mobis Co., Ltd. They will share the latest technologies and industry trends with participants, providing a rich conference experience.


On the first day of the conference, the 24th, short courses in various fields, poster sessions, and workshops by domestic semiconductor research groups will take place. On the 25th and 26th, general oral sessions including 73 invited speakers, poster sessions, corporate sessions, lump sessions, a corporate job fair session, and a special luncheon session for undergraduate students will be held.


The organizing committee of the Department of Semiconductor Engineering at POSTECH, which is hosting this conference, stated, "Considering that this is the 31st event marking the transition of the domestic semiconductor industry’s history from one generation to the next, we have prepared it so that young semiconductor professionals can feel pride as semiconductor experts. We have also planned a variety of cultural event programs to create a festive atmosphere, including a welcome reception on the first day, an awards ceremony and special performance during the networking session on the second day, and a raffle event on the last day."
