This year, the budget for the Digital Platform Government was finalized at 938.6 billion KRW, an increase of 517.9 billion KRW (123%) compared to the previous year.
The Presidential Commission on the Digital Platform Government announced on the 18th that the budget size was confirmed after the National Assembly's budget review process.
The commission decided to focus investments this year on four key areas to ensure that citizens can feel the results: ▲ One Government ▲ Smart Government ▲ Growth Platform with Public-Private Cooperation ▲ Implementation of a Trusted and Secure Digital Platform Government.
Through this year's projects, once the value of the Digital Platform Government is realized, citizens will be able to apply for civil petitions at an online integrated window without submitting any documents all at once.
Additionally, citizens will receive benefit notifications to avoid missing government support, and complex permits such as factory establishment will be processed easily, allowing them to experience tangible results in daily life.
To solve social issues closely related to citizens' lives, such as transportation and disasters, the plan includes introducing and utilizing private sector super-large artificial intelligence (AI) and building a hyper-connected digital twin.
Chairman Ko Jin stated, "We will carry out core projects without delay so that in 2024, citizens can directly experience the Digital Platform Government and feel the changes."
