The prosecution investigating the suspicion of an 'incident broker' conducted a search and seizure of a golf apparel store operated by the family of a police officer.
According to the legal community on the 21st, the Gwangju District Prosecutors' Office searched the golf apparel store run by the family of Police Lieutenant A, who belongs to the Gwangju Police Agency, on the 10th in connection with the investigation and personnel request case involving incident broker Seong (62).
It is known that purchase records from the golf apparel store were taken.
This search and seizure is reported to be aimed at uncovering allegations that Police Inspector B, who was in the same department as Lieutenant A in the past, made personnel requests through Seong.
Inspector B is currently under investigation for related charges and has been suspended from duty.
Seong is a figure who has led golf gatherings for over 20 years, building connections with officials from the prosecution, police, politics, and business sectors, and is currently suspected of requesting investigation dismissals or being involved in personnel requests to senior police officials.
After arresting and indicting Seong in August on charges of violating the Attorney-at-Law Act, the prosecution has been expanding the scope of the investigation by continuing searches and seizures targeting multiple related individuals.
Seong was prosecuted for allegedly receiving approximately 1.854 billion won in money and goods from coin fraudster Tak and others between August and November 2020 and requesting investigation dismissals.
