Meet Haenam Rice, Sweet Potatoes, Napa Cabbage, and Gim at the Haenam Minam Festival
Haenam-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Myeong Hyun-gwan) proudly presents the four premium agricultural and marine specialty products ready to make their debut at the Haenam Minam Festival.
According to the county on the 27th, the Haenam Minam Festival will be held from the 3rd to the 5th of next month around Duryunsan Provincial Park, where Haenam’s agricultural and marine specialties representing Minam (味南) will take center stage to showcase the essence of "Delicious Haenam."
In particular, the top-quality rice, napa cabbage, sweet potatoes, and gim (seaweed) ? the main agricultural and marine products nationwide ? will meet festival visitors as delicious foods and dishes, coinciding with their peak harvest season.

Haenam, which boasts the largest cultivated area and eco-friendly certified farmland in the country, produces eco-friendly rice and the iconic Haenam napa cabbage, which can be experienced through the Daedong Food Performance.
On the 4th, the ‘515 Kimchi Bibim’ event, where kimchi is made using napa cabbage grown in 515 villages across Haenam, will take place, and on the 5th, the ‘Minam Haenam Tteokguk Sharing with the World’ event will be held, sharing rice cake soup made with Haenam rice, Haenam gim, and oysters with all festival participants.
The beloved nutritious snack ‘Haenam Sweet Potato’ can be enjoyed as a convenient meal at the Snack Pavilion. The Snack Pavilion features snacks made and sold directly by residents from local community organizations such as residents’ autonomy committees. A variety of sweet potato finger foods will be offered, including sweet potato croquettes, sweet potato latte, sweet potato kimbap, and kimchi sweet potato pancakes.
Delicious foods made from Haenam’s representative agricultural and marine specialty products can also be found throughout the festival grounds through hands-on experience events.
These include the nostalgic grill where participants can roast skewers using local ingredients along with Haenam traditional liquor, Haenam rice tactile play and threshing experience, napa cabbage kimchi mixing events, sweet potato picking experience, dumpling making filled with napa cabbage, cooking experiences, and seafood tasting events.
Additionally, local food direct stores and online shopping mall Haenam Miso vendors will set up booths by product category to hold sales events offering fresh agricultural and marine products and processed agricultural food products at affordable prices, directly meeting consumers.
Governor Myeong Hyun-gwan said, “Haenam’s agricultural and marine specialties, which are in season, will be fully showcased at the Haenam Minam Festival. We hope everyone enjoys the festival and takes home health filled with delicious food.”
