Opening of Cheongsong Garden Filled with Colorful Baekilhong Flowers
Cheongsong-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, will officially open the "Oxygen Cafe Cheongsong Garden," a popular autumn flower-viewing spot, on September 1st.
To meet diverse tourism demands, Cheongsong-gun, with the participation of residents and 17 local organizations, has created a cockscomb flower bed covering approximately 42,000 pyeong in Cheongsong Garden.
This year, the cockscomb flower bed is expected to be in full bloom from the Chuseok holiday, when many return to their hometowns, through early October. The harmonious blend of cockscomb flowers is anticipated to offer visitors a relaxing experience and a sense of heartfelt happiness.
As with last year, the garden will be open to the public free of charge, with visiting hours from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. (last admission at 6 p.m.). Notably, additional parking spaces have been secured this year, significantly enhancing visitor convenience.
Known as the largest cockscomb flower bed in the nation, "Oxygen Cafe Cheongsong Garden" welcomed 150,000 visitors over two months last fall (September to October), establishing itself as a new tourist attraction in Cheongsong-gun. Various cultural events, including concerts and busking performances, are scheduled here every weekend, which is expected to further increase the number of visitors.
Governor Yoon Kyung-hee stated, "Thanks to the concerted efforts of residents and local organizations, we were able to successfully create this large-scale flower bed. We will do our best to contribute to revitalizing the local economy through continuous tourist inflow and to make Oxygen Cafe Cheongsong-gun a landmark representing the region."
